My Girlfriend's Stepmom

About this video

Moving in with the girlfriend was supposed to be the easy part. Then her stepmom introduced the house rules.

Jake arrives at his girlfriend Chloe's family home ready to make a good impression. Chloe's stepmom Dana makes a different kind of impression: warm, confident and proud of a motto about secrets, which she says have no place under her roof. Within minutes she has already met him in a way he wasn't planning for. Episode 2 raises the stakes. Chloe warns him not to freak out, hints at a family custom starring her boyfriends and Dana, and then Dana turns up with two ground rules, a countdown and a calm that leaves Jake wondering who is really in charge.

Why it clicks

Everyone smiles, and everyone is leaving something out. The stepmom writes the rules, the girlfriend plays along, and Jake can't tell whether he's a guest or the main course. The free episodes only tease the rulebook.

Watch it when: Reach for it if a confident older woman, a house of conditions and an outmatched guest sounds like your evening.
