Our Surprise for Mom!

About this video

A surprise party for Mom, planned by her daughter and her husband, who are suspiciously good at keeping secrets.

Her fiftieth birthday lands on Saturday, and her daughter has found the one ally she needs: her stepfather. The plan is simple: forty guests, one house and a birthday girl who must suspect nothing. Episode 1 gets the conspiracy going. They hide the preparations, reconcile with a long-estranged Aunt Sarah and keep the guest of honor away from home. Between the whispers, he notices things he shouldn't about his stepdaughter, and she has noticed him noticing. Episode 2 raises the stakes with a dress for the party, a confession about why she volunteered to plan it and a front door that opens too soon.

Why it clicks

A family event with a secret inside the secret. The tension is all in the hiding, the sofa, the guest room, the hallway, and the free episodes stay on glances and almost-moments.

Watch it when: Watch it when party planning, guilty looks and a ticking clock sound like your kind of fun.
