The Open House

About this video

House hunting with his wife seemed easy, until the realtor took the husband upstairs alone and mentioned the bedroom has a lock.

Ben and Emily tour a house that might become their first place, and the realtor is ideal: charming, attentive and very interested in Ben. While Emily heads to the kitchen with a tape measure, she takes him upstairs to see the bedrooms, bright and spacious, plus a lock on the door. She asks how long they've been married, and whether the honeymoon is already over. Episode 2 keeps the tour going: Ben can't believe the realtor is into him, Emily is somewhere downstairs, and the clock for a quick look at the bed is ticking.

Why it clicks

House viewing as seduction: she owns the keys, the lock and the schedule, while he owns a very patient wife one floor away. The free episodes stay on the tease: banter, a measuring tape and a bedroom door that doesn't open on request.
