Cleopatra and Caesar

About this video

Rome's most feared general has beaten every army but one temptation: the Egyptian queen on the other side of the battlefield.

Ancient history, rated much hotter. Julius Caesar is winning wars across the Mediterranean, yet his most dangerous opponent is Cleopatra, whose forces keep advancing and whose reputation has already reached his tent. In episode 1 an adviser needles him about the prize on offer, Caesar reminds everyone he has a wife, and word arrives that her troops seized a camp in the east. Episode 2 brings the queen herself, angry about an attack on her men. Their argument turns into something else entirely, and then she delivers news that changes the politics of two empires.

Why it clicks

Epic costumes, a war table and an enemy who plays with fire. The sparring is as sharp as the swords, and the free episodes keep the temptation in words and looks. Bolder scenes are saved for later paid episodes.

Watch it when: Great for a night when you want empires, politics and a queen who always gets the last word.
